Why are there height/weight requirements: For your safety. Over the years, we've found that proportions matter, especially when beginners are concerned. When riders fall off, its almost always because they cannot effectively use their legs to balance. Greater weights require longer legs for balance.
How many riders can you take? We can accommodate up to 6 riders at a time. If you have more than that or need special accommodation, please text.
Can I ride with my child on my horse? No. Riding double is hard on the horses and much more difficult than riding alone, especially for inexperienced riders.
Can I bring my dog? No
What's your minimum age requirement? While we don't have a minimum age requirement, please take careful inventory of your child's skill and temperament. If they've never been on a horse, you might try the pony carousel at Thanksgiving Point before attempting a trail ride. If a child needs to quit at any time both they and their adult will need to dismount and walk back to the trailhead. That said, most kids do fine so long as they will hold on and follow instructions.
What's your cancellation policy? Ride fees are non-refundable. You may reschedule your ride with 48 hours notice and a $25 fee per rider. Any ride cancelled by Wasatch Trail Rides will be offered a refund or reschedule (free of charge).
I'm an experienced rider. Can we gallop? Safety of our riders and horses is our number 1 priority. We must ride to the ability level of the weakest rider in the group. So the answer to this is generally no. If you have an experienced group of 2 or more, reach out to discuss possibilities for a custom ride. Please remember in horse world, we measure experience by the number of years in the saddle. Someone who has had a few lessons, or rode grandpa's horse a couple of times as a kid is *NOT* experienced.
